Frequently asked questions

Do you only work on WordPress?

In general I recommend WordPress. If you already have a website on another CMS (content management system), I’m happy to consider if it makes sense to keep it there or if it’s better to transfer it to WordPress.

How long does it take?

Anywhere between 2-12 weeks depending on the size and complexity. Once I have received the text and images from you, the website can generally be built in 2-3 weeks. Once you decide to start the project, we will agree on a timeline and I will book a timeslot for your build.

What makes you different to other web designers?

My strength is in communication and with my sales & marketing background I focus strongly on getting the message right and the design follows on from that. The main thing is that you find somebody who takes an interest in your business and who can support and guide you to provide the best possible content for your ideal audience. What’s better – freelance or an agency?

Again, depends on you. As a freelancer I am able to keep my rates more affordable than bigger agencies in Perth. I work on my own and although I may be liaising with a few clients about their projects I only work on one build at a time. Once we’ve decided on the timescale for your build, I set that time aside to work with you exclusively.

What if I need specialist help?

Sometimes I may recommend that you get help from another specialist– maybe with branding or with copy writing. I will be happy to help you find the right person for your needs.

Are there any extra costs?

Cost of the domain name and hosting is additional to the design.

When is payment due?

50% of my fee is due once you decide to go ahead with the project. The other 50% is due when the website is ready and before I hand it over to you. If you need a domain name and/or hosting, you pay for those when you register.

Where are you based?

I live & work in Subiaco in Perth, Western Australia. I work with clients from other parts of the world and am happy to schedule calls outside my normal working hours.
